“With a strong focus on R&D, Amilina is laying the foundations for a phase of significant future growth. Sustainability, customer satisfaction, safety and quality are some of our core values.”
Dr. Danas Tvarijonavicius, Chairman
Amilina, a Roquette Group company, is one of the top four starch producers in the EU. We process wheat into native and cationic starches. These starches then go on to form the basis for high- carbohydrate foods, and are used as raw materials in a variety of industries, from textiles and chemicals to paper and cardboard.
The wheat glucose syrups we produce serve the industrial food and beverages markets. They’re eventually consumed as sweeteners, texturizing agents, spray drying carriers, anti-crystallizing and binding agents.
Nothing we process goes to waste. The fibre – and protein-rich by-products of our production process are used in a wide range of compound animal feeds.
Our starch processing plant is located in Panevezys, the heart of the Lithuanian agro-industrial sector and the epicentre of the Baltic Wheat Belt – a strip of highly fertile soil with an ideal climate for cultivating cereals. The belt starts in the south, in the district of Kaliningrad (which when it was Eastern Prussia was known as the breadbasket of Germany), and stretches all the way north through the Great Lithuanian Plain and on to Latvia where it ends not far from Riga.
Our Mission: To process local resources into products with high added value.
